πŸ“– Read the full guide: How to reduce PDF size for online applications (200KB / 300KB limits)

How it works

  1. Upload the PDF you need to shrink.
  2. For application portals, choose β€œStrong” mode, 150 DPI and about 70% quality, then compress.
  3. Check the before/after sizes, then download. If it is still above the limit, compress again with lower quality or 100 DPI.

πŸ”’ Privacy note: this tool runs entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to any server.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the portal reject my PDF?

Most Pakistani job and admission portals (PPSC, FPSC, universities, banks) only accept documents up to a fixed size, commonly 200 KB or 300 KB per file. A phone-scanned PDF is often 2–5 MB, so it must be compressed first.

What is the difference between Lossless and Strong mode?

Lossless mode only tidies the file structure β€” text stays selectable but savings are small. Strong mode rebuilds each page as a compressed image, which shrinks files dramatically but makes the text non-selectable, like a scan.

Will the compressed PDF still be readable?

At 150 DPI and 70% quality, documents remain clearly readable on screen and in print for application purposes. For archival copies, keep your original file as well.

The file is still larger than 200KB. What can I do?

Compress the result a second time, choose 100 DPI, and lower the quality slider. Also check our guide on reducing PDF size for online applications, linked below.
