Frequently asked questions
How is reading time calculated?
Reading time assumes an average adult reading speed of about 200 words per minute, and speaking time assumes about 130 words per minute (typical for presentations and speeches). Your own speed may differ.
What counts as a word?
Any sequence of characters separated by spaces counts as one word — the same method used by Microsoft Word and Google Docs.
Why do some words not appear in the keyword list?
Common filler words (the, and, of, to…) are excluded, and only words of 3+ letters that repeat are shown, so the list highlights your actual topic vocabulary — useful for essays and SEO writing.
Is my text saved anywhere?
No. Counting happens entirely in your browser; nothing is uploaded or stored.
